Regular Season Round 19: Kormend - Falco KC 92-81

The game between third ranked Falco KC (12-7) and fourth ranked Kormend (13-6) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Falco KC was defeated by Kormend in Kormend 81-92. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Falco KC. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Kormend. Falco KC managed to win second period 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kormend dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Falco KC's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Falco KC helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Terry Allen (203-93, college: Richmond) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTRGV) contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Petty is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kormend players scored in double figures. American guard Drew Barham (198-89, college: Gonzaga) answered with 23 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import point guard Darrin Govens (185-88, college: St.Joseph's) added 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals in the effort for Falco KC. Falco KC's coach Srecko Sekulovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kormend have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Kaposvari. Falco KC at the other side dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Szolnok. Kormend is looking forward to face bottom-ranked MAFC (#14) in Budapest in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Falco KC will play at home against PVSK Pannon (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
