Regular Season Round 17: Keravnos - Apoel 78-69

An interesting game for Keravnos (15-2) which hosted in Strovolos 3rd placed Apoel (9-8). First ranked Keravnos managed to get a 9-point victory 78-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Apoel. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 9 points. Keravnos looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American point guard Ronald Ross (188-83, college: Texas Tech) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 assists. American-Somalian forward Mohamed Abukar (208-85, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Keravnos players scored in double figures. American forward Brandon Mobley (206-91, college: Seton Hall, agency: HMS) answered with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Tre Bussey (190-91, college: Georgia South) added 21 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Apoel. Keravnos maintains first place with 15-2 record. Apoel at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. Keravnos are looking forward to face Enosis (#4) in Paralimni in the next round. Apoel will play at home against the league's second-placed AEK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
