PBL round 20 caused change at the leadership position. First defeat of league's leader UMMC Ekaterinburg (18-1) against second ranked Dynamo Kursk (18-1) 99-86 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the 14-game winning streak of UMMC Ekaterinburg. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Dynamo Kursk dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to UMMC Ekaterinburg's 28. Dynamo Kursk forced 23 UMMC Ekaterinburg turnovers and had a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. 26 personal fouls committed by UMMC Ekaterinburg helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Angel McCoughtry (187-86, college: Louisville) orchestrated the victory by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 4 assists. Nigerian-American power forward Nneka Ogwumike (189-90, college: Stanford) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Italian-American Diana Taurasi (182-82, college: Connecticut) replied with 38 points (!!!) and American center Brittney Griner (203-90, college: Baylor) added 20 points in the effort for UMMC Ekaterinburg. Dynamo Kursk have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with UMMC. There is only one round left in the Regular Season. And it will be most important game for UMMC Ekaterinburg this season. They will face strong Nadezhda Orenburg trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Dynamo Kursk will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked MBA in Moscow.
