Regular Season Round 20: Lugano Tigers - Geneve Lions 83-64

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Geneve Lions (11-7) against fourth ranked Lugano Tigers (12-7) on Saturday night. Visiting Geneve Lions were crushed by Lugano Tigers in Lugano 83-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Geneve Lions. It looked good early as Geneve Lions took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lugano Tigers had a 27-15 second period charge getting the lead and Geneve Lions were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 64-83. They outrebounded Geneve Lions 42-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Terrell Everett (193-84, college: Oklahoma, agency: Diamond Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Tristan Carey (193-91, college: Longwood) contributed with 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Chris Braswell (206-89, college: Charlotte) replied with 8 points and 9 rebounds and guard Chad Timberlake (194-84, college: Fair Dickinson, agency: BeoBasket) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Geneve Lions. Geneve Lions' coach Jean-Marc Jaumin rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Lugano Tigers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Geneve Lions at the other side dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Neuchatel. Lugano Tigers will play against Boncourt (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Geneve Lions will play against Starwings (#6) in Basel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
