No shocking result in a game in Surgut where third ranked Universitet-Yugra (14-5) defeated 5th ranked Sakhalin (12-8) 87-73 on Saturday. Universitet-Yugra made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Sakhalin turnovers. Lithuanian point guard Linas Lekavicius (186-84, college: American) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and forward Alexander Savenkov (205-82) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Universitet-Yugra's coach Sergei Olhov used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side guard Dramir Zibirov (187-86) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Alexey Nesterov (204-88) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Sakhalin players scored in double figures. Universitet-Yugra maintains third place with 14-5 record behind leader Novosybirsk. Loser Sakhalin keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Spartak-Prim.. Universitet-Yugra will meet at home Spartak-Prim. (#6) in the next round. Sakhalin will play against MBA Moscow and hope to secure a win.
