Regular Season Round 20: MTK - ELTE-BEAC 74-88

Date: March 4, 2017
Bottom-ranked BEAC-Ujbuda managed to get a second victory, breaking the nine-game losing streak. This time they won against tenth-ranked MTK in Budapest 88-74. The game was mostly controlled by BEAC-Ujbuda. MTK was better in fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BEAC-Ujbuda players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by Reka Lelik (178-99) who scored that evening 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Krisztina Sule (178-87) supported her with 23 points. Four BEAC-Ujbuda players scored in double figures. BEAC-Ujbuda's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists by the former international power forward Nikoletta Turoczi (187-80) did not help to save the game for MTK. The former international swingman Orsolya Zsovar (180-84) added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the hosts. BEAC-Ujbuda (2-16) moved-up to tenth place. MTK lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom position with 16 games lost. BEAC-Ujbuda will play against higher ranked PINKK-Pecsi (#9) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. MTK will play against the league's second-placed Atomeromu and will have a slim chance for a victory.
