We should mention about the upset which took place in Basel, where higher ranked Starwings (9-9) were outleveled at home by tenth ranked Massagno (6-12) 87-59. The game was mostly controlled by Massagno. Starwings was better in fourth quarter 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by American guard Warren Niles (196-89, college: ORU, agency: Two Points) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds and Danish center Jonas Bergstedt (210-91) supported him with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Four Massagno players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 12 points and 17 rebounds by American power forward Durell Vinson (201-85, college: Wagner) did not help to save the game for Starwings. His fellow American import guard Chris Jones (188-93, college: Angelo St.) added 15 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Massagno moved-up to ninth place. Starwings lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with nine games lost. Massagno's next round opponent will be league's leader Fribourg at home and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
