Regular Season Round 33: UMMC Junior - Nika 71-57

Bottom-ranked UMMC Junior managed to get a eighth victory, breaking the series of two consecutive losses. This time they won against sixth-ranked Nika in Ekaterinburg 71-57. 24 personal fouls committed by Nika helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Center Milena Gegirova (190-98) nailed 14 points for the winning side and point guard Yuliya Sorokina (176-94) accounted for 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four UMMC Junior players scored in double figures. Forward Marina Sheveleva (184-89) came up with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Kazakhstan forward Ekaterina Bezgodova (180-90) added 13 points respectively for Nika in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. UMMC Junior maintains tenth place with 8-23 record. Nika lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh position with 19 games lost. UMMC Junior's next round opponent will be again higher ranked Nika (#8) in Syktyvkar and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
