Leader Alba delivered the eighteenth win on Tuesday night. This time they crushed 13th ranked Vasas (4-17) 106-59 in Budapest. The game without a history. Alba led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Vasas' 34. Alba forced 23 Vasas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Vasas' players. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Peter Lorant (206-85, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 15 points and 9 assists. Canadian guard Justin Edwards (190-92, college: Kansas St.) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Alba players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward AJ Pacher (208-92, college: Wright St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Sam Thompson (201-92, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alba (18-3) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place. Vasas lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Alba are looking forward to face Szolnok (#6) in Szolnok in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Vasas will play at home against Kaposvari (#4) and are hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
