Leader Keravnos delivered the seventeenth victory on Friday night. This time they crushed 6th ranked Apollon (3-16) 96-42 in Strovolos. The game without a history. Keravnos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Apollon to just 5 points in second quarter. Keravnos dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Apollon's 20. Keravnos forced 25 Apollon turnovers and outrebounded them 38-26 including 23 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Apollon's players. It was a great evening for American power forward Terell Parks (204-91, college: W.Illinois) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 18 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Jake O'Brien (206-89, college: Temple, agency: HMS) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds. Five Keravnos players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international Marios Georgiou (201-91) responded with 12 points and center Papa Suleiman (207-98) scored 4 points and 10 rebounds. Apollon's coach Lukas Antoniou gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Keravnos. They maintain first place with 17-2 record. Apollon lost their ninth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Keravnos will meet Etha (#5) in the next round. Apollon will play against the league's second-placed AEK and hope to secure a win.
