There was a minor upset in Vidnoye where 7th ranked Sparta&K-2 V (13-20) was defeated by ninth ranked Stavropol (13-20) 79-71. Stavropol had a 24-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Sparta&K-2 V's players. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Tatyana Ignatchenko (188-89) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Galina Lyashenko (172-91) accounted for 23 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four Stavropol players scored in double figures. The former international forward Julia Gladkova (185-94) came up with 23 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Sevara Nuritdinova (163-98) added 24 points and 4 assists respectively for Sparta&K-2 V in the defeat. Sparta&K-2 V's coach Sergey Dalinin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Stavropol moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Sparta&K-2 V. Stavropol will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sparta&K-2 V will play again at home against Stavropol (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
