Regular Season Round 22: Szolnok - Alba 90-76

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Alba (18-4) on the court of sixth ranked Szolnok on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Szolnok 90-76. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Alba. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 53-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded Alba 43-28 including 33 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of international swingman David Vojvoda (196-90) who helped to win the game recording 27 points. American forward Troy Barnies (200-89, college: Maine) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Canadian guard Justin Edwards (190-92, college: Kansas St.) replied with 22 points and 4 assists and international power forward Akos Keller (208-89) added 13 points in the effort for Alba. Five Szolnok and four Alba players scored in double figures. Defending champion (14-8) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kaposvari. Alba at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Szolnok is looking forward to face Vasas (#13) in Budapest in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alba will play at home against Szedeak (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
