Regular Season Round 21: Miskolc - UNIQA Sopron 86-74

Round 21 in A Division means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Miskolc where host Miskolc (12-7) beat league's leader UNIQA Sopron (15-4) 86-74 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of UNIQA Sopron. The hosts trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 12 points. Miskolc made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Miskolc outrebounded UNIQA Sopron 43-23 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Serbian power forward Tina Jovanovic (190-91) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. The former international forward Rita Rasheed (182-89) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian forward Aleksandra Crvendakic (188-96) who recorded 21 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Shenise Johnson (181-90, college: Miami, FL) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Miskolc maintains sixth place with 12-7 record. Defending champion UNIQA Sopron dropped to the second position with four games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Atomeromu. There is only one round left in the Regular Season. And it will be most important game for UNIQA Sopron this season. They will face strong PEAC-Pecs trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Miskolc will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked ZTE NKK in Zalaegerszeg.
