Date: March 19, 2017
There was no surprise in Szeged where 13th ranked Vasas (4-20) were crushed by eighth ranked Szedeak (12-12) 92-70 on Sunday. Szedeak made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Serbian center Nenad Sulovic (202-85, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 20 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Serbian guard Andrija Ciric (198-80) chipped in 24 points and 8 rebounds. Five Szedeak players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Sam Thompson (201-92, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) who recorded 18 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Canadian power forward Ryan Wright (206-87, college: Oklahoma) added 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Szedeak maintains eighth position with 12-12 record. Vasas lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom. Szedeak will have a break next round. Vasas will play at home against Kormend (#3) and hope to win that game.
