Regular Season Round 25: Vasas - Kormend 79-109

Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Vasas (4-21) were outscored by third ranked Kormend (17-8) in Budapest 109-79. The game without a history. Kormend led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Vasas' 42. Kormend players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists. Vasas were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Liberian guard Lasan Kromah (198-91, college: Connecticut) stepped up and scored 27 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American forward Terry Allen (203-93, college: Richmond) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side American point guard Ronnie Taylor (187-81, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 assists and the former international swingman Akos Horvath (194-81, agency: HMS) scored 20 points. Four Kormend and five Vasas players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kormend moved-up to second place, which they share with Szolnok. Vasas lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 21 lost games. They share the position with MAFC. Kormend will play against league's second-placed Szolnok in Szolnok in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vasas will play on the road against PVSK Pannon (#7) in Pecs and hope to get back on the winning track.
