Regular Season Round 25: Alba - PVSK Pannon 67-85

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Alba (20-5) in Szekesfehervar on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by seventh ranked PVSK Pannon (14-11) 85-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Alba. The game was mostly controlled by PVSK Pannon. Alba managed to win fourth quarter 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. PVSK Pannon looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian forward Veljko Budimir (199-85) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Chris Smith (193-94, college: Utah St., agency: Three Eye Sports) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four PVSK Pannon players scored in double figures. PVSK Pannon's coach Ferenc Csirke used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Canadian guard Justin Edwards (190-92, college: Kansas St.) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and Ghanian guard Alhaji Mohammed (192-81, college: Louisville, agency: Three Eye Sports) added 14 points in the effort for Alba. PVSK Pannon maintains seventh place with 14-11 record. Alba at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. PVSK Pannon are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Vasas (#14) in Budapest in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alba will play on the road against KTE-Duna (#8) in Kecskemet and is hoping to win this game.
