Bottom-ranked BBC Troist. (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 77-47 loss to eighth ranked Riva (3-1) in Riva San Vitale on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Riva led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BBC Troist. to just 6 points in first quarter. Riva dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to BBC Troist.'s 24. Riva forced 21 BBC Troist. turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jackie Nared (183-90, college: St.Mary's, CA, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 5 assists and Canadian power forward Julie Seabrook (189-90, college: Colorado) who added 24 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Coach Walter Montini's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American guard Tracey Carrington (175-93, college: Morgan St., agency: Two Points) responded with 25 points and 5 rebounds and her fellow American import power forward Patricia Bright (193-91, college: Oregon St., agency: LBM Management) scored 7 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. Riva moved-up to sixth place in Places 6-9, which they share with Bellinzona. Newly promoted BBC Troist. still closes the standings with four games lost. Riva will meet at home Pully (#8) in the next round. BBC Troist. will play against Bellinzona and hopes to get finally their first victory.
