Second Stage Round 3: Winterthur - Lausanne 69-94

Date: April 2, 2017
Rather expected game when Winterthur (2-20) was crushed at home by Lausanne (8-13) 94-69. It looked good early as Winterthur took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Lausanne took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 25 points. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. It was a good game for American guard Karl Cochran (185-92, college: Wofford) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Jordan Loveridge (198-93, college: Utah) contributed with 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Jordan Downing (196-92, college: Presbyterian) answered with 19 points and naturalized Portuguese forward Kevin Monteiro (196-94) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Winterthur. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lausanne's next round opponent will be Massagno (#10) at home. Winterthur will play against Massagno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
