Second Stage Round 2: Vasas - Atomeromu 87-90

Thirteenth-ranked Vasas (5-23) used its home court advantage to challenge Atomeromu (11-17) in Budapest on Thursday. The visitors from Paks managed to secure only three-point victory 90-87. However their fans expected easier game. Vasas were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Atomeromu looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Vasas were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. Power forward Matt Tiby (203-92, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Talor Battle (182-88, college: Penn St., agency: Two Points) contributed with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Point guard Ronnie Taylor (187-81, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 17 assists and forward AJ Pacher (208-92, college: Wright St., agency: Octagon Europe) added 21 points and 12 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in the effort for Vasas. Four Atomeromu and five Vasas players scored in double figures. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
