Second Stage Round 4: PVSK Pannon - Sopron KC 103-94

Leader PVSK Pannon delivered the seventeenth victory. This time they beat 5th ranked Sopron KC (13-16) 103-94 in Pecs. The hosts were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 30-26 Sopron KC's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 103-94 at the end of the game. PVSK Pannon shot 60.6 percent from the field. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The winners were led by American guard Chris Smith (193-94, college: Utah St., agency: Three Eye Sports) who scored that evening 36 points (!!!) (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) and Croatian forward Veljko Budimir (199-85) supported him with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Even 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists by American guard Brandon Johnson (183-86, college: San Diego, agency: BeoBasket) did not help to save the game for Sopron KC. His fellow American import guard Julien Mills (193-85, college: Ball St., agency: HMS) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Four PVSK Pannon and five Sopron KC players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. PVSK Pannon maintains first position with 17-12 record, which they share with Kaposvari. Sopron KC at the other side keeps the fifth place with 16 games lost. PVSK Pannon's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Kaposvari at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sopron KC will play against KTE-Duna in Kecskemet and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
