Rather expected game when 5th ranked Neuchatel (13-12) lost on the road to second ranked Monthey (18-7) 81-76 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-12. But Neuchatel won second period 24-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Neuchatel 48-33 including 18 on the offensive glass. American power forward Jordan Heath (208-91, college: Canisius, agency: Inception Sports) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 19 rebounds. Naturalized French Mikael Maruotto (201-91) contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American guard Tony Brown (193-79, college: Arkansas St.) answered with 18 points and Serbian power forward Zoran Krstanovic (204-82) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Neuchatel. Four Neuchatel players scored in double figures. Monthey have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place in Places 1-6 with 18-7 record having just three points less than leader Fribourg. Neuchatel lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 12 games lost.
