Regular Season Round 1: Starwings - Lugano Tigers 81-76

An interesting game took place in Basel where Lugano Tigers (0-1) were upset on the court of Starwings (1-0) 81-76. It looked good early as Lugano Tigers took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Starwings had a 28-14 second period charge getting the lead and Lugano Tigers were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-81. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Armenian swingman A.J. Hess (201-94, college: S.Dakota St.) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Serbian-Montenegrin center Nemanja Calasan (204-85, college: Purdue, agency: HMS) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Starwings players scored in double figures. American power forward James Padgett (203-91, college: Maryland) answered with 19 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Tristan Carey (193-91, college: Longwood) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Lugano Tigers. Starwings' next round opponent will be Fribourg on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lugano Tigers will play against Swiss Central (#12) and hope to win that game.
