Regular Season Round 1: PVSK-Veolia - Szolnok 72-91

PVSK-Veolia was not able to use a home court advantage and was crushed by the opponent from Szolnok 91-72 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Szolnok led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Szolnok outrebounded PVSK-Veolia 39-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for American forward Quincy Ford (203-93, college: Northeastern) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Kendrick Perry (183-92, college: Youngstown St.) contributed with 18 points and 7 assists for the winners. Four Szolnok players scored in double figures. Szolnok's coach Dragan Aleksic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Kristof Simon (186-94) answered with 17 points and Croatian forward Veljko Budimir (199-85) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for PVSK-Veolia. Szolnok will face Sopron KC (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. PVSK-Veolia will play against KTE-Duna (#3) in Kecskemet and hope to win that game.
