The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Sopron Basket as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Sopron Basket smashed 5th ranked Cegledi EKK at home 84-51. The game without a history. Sopron Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Sopron Basket outrebounded Cegledi EKK 47-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Serbian forward Aleksandra Crvendakic (186-96) who scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Serbian power forward Tina Jovanovic (192-91) chipped in 9 points and 10 rebounds. DR Congolese forward Chanel Mokango (196-88, college: Mississippi St., agency: ProDep Management) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and international forward Szidonia Katona (180-93, agency: Interperformances) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Miskolc. Cegledi EKK at the other side dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. Cegledi EKK will play next round against Vasas Akademia trying to get back on the winning streak. Sopron Basket will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked MTK in Budapest.
