Regular Season Round 6: MTK - Sopron Basket 49-89

A Division top team - Sopron Basket (5-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked MTK (1-5) in Budapest 89-49. The game without a history. Sopron Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding MTK to just 6 points in third quarter. They outrebounded MTK 40-22 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sopron Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by MTK's players. It was a good game for Serbian forward Aleksandra Crvendakic (186-96) who led her team to a victory with 12 points and 6 assists. International Virag Weninger (179-97) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Four Sopron Basket players scored in double figures. International point guard Bernadett Horvath (170-96, agency: Interperformances) replied with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Lilla Adamecz (182-92) added 9 points in the effort for MTK. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first position with 5-1 record. MTK lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with five games lost. Sopron Basket are looking forward to face PEAC-Pecs (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. MTK will play against PINKK-Pecsi and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
