Regular Season Round 6: Atomeromu - ZTE NKK 81-49
Date: October 28, 2017
Rather expected game when 5th ranked ZTE NKK (3-2) was smashed by top-ranked Atomeromu (4-0) in Szekszard 81-49 on Saturday. The game without a history. Atomeromu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding ZTE NKK to just 5 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded ZTE NKK 32-18 including 22 on the defensive glass. The former international Reka Balint (182-91) notched 24 points to lead the effort and point guard Agnes Studer (168-98, agency: Interperformances) supported her with 11 points and 10 assists. Even 20 points by American center Nadia Parker (191-87, college: USC) did not help to save the game for ZTE NKK. Austrian guard Sigi Koizar (173-95, college: Maine) added 11 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Atomeromu have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser ZTE NKK keeps the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Cegledi EKK. Atomeromu will meet Vasas Akademia (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. ZTE NKK will play against Miskolc and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
