Regular Season Round 6: UNI Gyor - PEAC-Pecs 69-65

Date: October 29, 2017
No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked UNI Gyor (4-1) beat at home 9th ranked PEAC-Pecs (1-4) 69-65 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. PEAC-Pecs trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 15 after three quarters before a 24-13 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 65-69 at the end of the game. International guard Zsofia Simon (181-89, agency: Interperformances) notched 12 points, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and the former international forward Tijana Krivacevic (196-90, agency: ProDep Management) supported her with 14 points and 6 rebounds. UNI Gyor's coach Peter Volgyi used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 20 points and 17 rebounds by Nigerian forward Sarah Imovbioh (188-92, college: S.Carolina) did not help to save the game for PEAC-Pecs. Serbian point guard Sanja Mandic (178-95, agency: BeoBasket) added 4 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. UNI Gyor moved-up to third place, which they share with Miskolc. PEAC-Pecs lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with four games lost. UNI Gyor will meet at home bottom-ranked BEAC-Ujbuda (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. PEAC-Pecs will play against the league's leader Sopron Basket and hope to win that game.
