Regular Season Round 7: ZTE NKK - Miskolc 78-55

The game between third ranked Miskolc (4-2) and sixth ranked ZTE NKK (4-2) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Miskolc was crushed by ZTE NKK in Zalaegerszeg 78-55. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Miskolc. The game was mostly controlled by ZTE NKK. Miskolc managed to win fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ZTE NKK dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Miskolc's 24 and made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. ZTE NKK forced 21 Miskolc turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Chucky Jeffery (178-91, college: Colorado) who led her team to a victory scoring 22 points and 5 assists. Her fellow American import center Nadia Parker (191-87, college: USC) helped adding 16 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks. Parker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side Czech forward Tereza Peckova (190-87) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and international point guard Dora Nagy (170-95) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Miskolc's coach Stefan Svitek gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. ZTE NKK moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Miskolc. ZTE NKK is looking forward to face bottom-ranked BEAC-Ujbuda (#11) in Budapest in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Miskolc will play at home against UNI Gyor (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
