Regular Season Round 4: APOP - Apoel 58-75

Date: November 4, 2017
Very significant was Apoel's (#3, 3-1) victory against 4th ranked APOP (1-2) 75-58. Apoel looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and guard Evrik Gary (191-91, college: Francis Marion) who added 16 points during the contest. Gary is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Apoel's coach Antonis Konstantinides used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Tracy Abrams (188-92, college: Illinois) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists and guard James Milliken (188-93, college: Creighton, agency: SDJ Sports) scored 21 points. Apoel (3-1) moved-up to second place. Newly promoted APOP keeps the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Etha. Apoel are looking forward to face Etha (#5) in Nicosia in the next round. APOP will play on the road against Apollon in Limassol and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
