Regular Season Round 7: Neuchatel - Lugano Tigers 79-80

The most exciting game of round 7 in the SBL took place in Neuchatel. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 3rd placed Neuchatel (4-3) to fourth ranked Lugano Tigers (4-1) 80-79 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Neuchatel. They outrebounded Neuchatel 45-31 including a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American power forward James Padgett (203-91, college: Maryland) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points and 9 rebounds. The former international Florian Steinmann (197-91) helped adding 21 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Tayloe Taylor (191-86, college: Livingstone) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Andre Williamson (202-89, college: Appalachian St.) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lugano Tigers have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Neuchatel at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Boncourt. Lugano Tigers are looking forward to face Lakers (#10) in Vevey in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Neuchatel will play on the road against Monthey (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
