Regular Season Round 7: Atomeromu - Cegledi EKK 72-67

Rather expected game in Szekszard where 6th ranked Cegledi EKK (3-3) was defeated by leader Atomeromu (5-0) 72-67 on Sunday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-16. But Cegledi EKK won second period 16-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Erica McCall (190-95, college: Stanford, agency: ProDep Management) fired 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international Reka Balint (182-91) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. International guard Dora Medgyessy (174-86) produced 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international forward Nora Nagy-Bujdoso (185-85) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Atomeromu have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Cegledi EKK at the other side keeps the sixth position with three games lost. Atomeromu will meet at home league's leader Sopron Basket in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cegledi EKK will play against PINKK-Pecsi (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
