Regular Season Round 8: Stavropol - Neftyanik 64-65

Bottom-ranked Neftyanik managed to get a second victory, breaking the three-game losing streak on Monday night. This time they edged fifth-ranked Stavropol 65-64. Neftyanik dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Stavropol's 24. Worth to mention a great performance of Kseniya Kornienko who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 8 rebounds and Ksenia Fedotova who added 18 points during the contest. Neftyanik's coach Elena Lazutkina used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Albina Khamitova (186-94) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and guard Svetlana Kuznetsova (174-75) scored 19 points. Neftyanik (2-4) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with MBA-2. Loser Stavropol keeps the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Sparta&K-2 V. Neftyanik will meet at home higher ranked Dynamo-Farm (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Stavropol will have a break next round.
