Regular Season Round 4: Vienna - USK Praha 83-71

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Austrian Vienna as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group A. Vienna defeated 4th ranked Czech USK Praha at home 83-71. Vienna dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to USK Praha's 22. Worth to mention a great performance of Czech center Jiri Hubalek (208-82, college: Iowa St., agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 6 rebounds and guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) who added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. At the losing side swingman Michal Mares (193-92) responded with 20 points and 7 assists and Finnish power forward Alexander Madsen (208-95) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four USK Praha players scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Zlatorog. USK Praha at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. USK Praha will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Vienna will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Zlatorog in Lasko.
