There was no surprise when 5th ranked Tambov (2-5) was defeated at home by third ranked Arsenal (5-4) 72-62 on Saturday. Arsenal looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was power forward Aleksandr Zaykin (207-84) who scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Dmitriy Rytenko (199-89) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was center Kirill Arkhipov (202-96) who recorded 19 points and 7 rebounds and guard Yury Pershin (194-94, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists respectively. Arsenal moved-up to second place in 2. Loser Tambov keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Arsenal will have a break next round. Tambov will play again at home against the league's second-placed Arsenal (#2) and hope to win that game.
