There was an upset in Szekesfehervar where higher ranked Szedeak (4-4) was crushed by eleventh ranked Alba (3-4) 94-68 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 56-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Alba dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Szedeak's 26 and made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Peter Lorant (206-85, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and American swingman Trevis Simpson (193-91, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: 3Eye) who added 20 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Alba players scored in double figures. American guard Josh Fortune (196-94, college: Colorado) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian center Nenad Sulovic (202-85, agency: BeoBasket) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion moved-up to ninth place, which they share with PVSK-Veolia and KTE-Duna. Loser Szedeak keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Alba will face higher ranked Atomeromu (#8) in Paks in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Szedeak will play at home against JP-Auto JKSE and hope to win that game.
