Regular Season Round 8: ZTE KK - Kaposvari 78-72

An interesting game took place in Zalaegerszeg where one of their biggest challengers Kaposvari (4-3) was upset on the court of eleventh ranked ZTE KK (4-4) 78-72 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and won the game by 6 points. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Zsolt Szabo (204-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds and American guard Deonta Vaughn (184-86, college: Cincinnati, agency: Interperformances) who added 17 points and 5 assists during the contest. Naturalized Serbian center Marko Spica (205-86, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) responded with 23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and American point guard Christopher Dunn (189-83, college: W.Virginia St., agency: Inception Sports) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. ZTE KK moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Kaposvari lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with three games lost. ZTE KK will face higher ranked Falco-Vulcano (#3) in Szombathely in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kaposvari will play at home against PVSK-Veolia and hope to win that game.
