Regular Season Round 9: Lugano Tigers - Pully 94-84

Very expected game when 8th ranked Pully (3-5) was defeated on the road by second ranked Lugano Tigers (8-1) 94-84 on Wednesday. Lugano Tigers made 27-of-30 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game, while Pully only scored ten points from the stripe. Lugano Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Pully's players. Pully was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American power forward James Padgett (203-91, college: Maryland) who scored 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. The former international forward Derek Stockalper (196-84, college: Cal Poly - SLO) chipped in 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Jonathan Wade (193-93, college: Norfolk St.) who recorded 28 points and 6 rebounds and Bahamas center Shaquille Cleare (203-93, college: Texas) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pully's coach Randoald Dessarzin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Lugano Tigers. They maintain second place with 8-1 record behind leader Fribourg. Newly promoted Pully dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Lugano Tigers will face Massagno (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
