Regular Season Round 9: Lugano Tigers - Boncourt 100-90

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Lugano. Second ranked Lugano Tigers faced 4th placed Boncourt. Host Lugano Tigers (8-1) defeated guests from Boncourt (5-4) 100-90. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Boncourt. Lugano Tigers made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward James Padgett (203-91, college: Maryland) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds. The former international Florian Steinmann (197-91) chipped in 26 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Amir Williams (211-92, college: Ohio St.) who recorded 32 points and 9 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) and guard Marc Seylan (193-92, college: Md-E Shore) added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Four Lugano Tigers and five Boncourt players scored in double figures. Lugano Tigers have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain second place with 8-1 record behind leader Fribourg. Boncourt at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Lugano Tigers are looking forward to face Massagno (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Boncourt will play against the league's leader Fribourg (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
