Regular Season Round 9: Atomeromu - Alba 60-67

We should mention about the upset which took place in Paks, where 8th ranked Atomeromu (4-5) lost at home to eleventh ranked Alba (4-4) 60-67 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-12. But Atomeromu won second period 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alba had a 35-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Alba made 7 blocks. The former international power forward Peter Lorant (206-85, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up and scored 5 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and American swingman Trevis Simpson (193-91, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: 3Eye) chipped in 17 points. The best for the losing side was international power forward Janos Eilingsfeld (198-91) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Seth Allen (185-94, college: Virginia Tech) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Alba. Defending champion moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Atomeromu at the other side dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with ZTE KK. Alba will meet at home bottom-ranked Sopron KC (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Atomeromu will play against JP-Auto JKSE (#13) in Jaszberenyi and hope to secure a win.
