Regular Season Round 12: Neftyanik - MBA-2 74-78

Bottom-ranked MBA-2 managed to get a third victory, breaking the five-game losing streak on Sunday night. This time they won against fourth-ranked Neftyanik in Omsk 78-74. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Neftyanik. MBA-2 forced 25 Neftyanik turnovers. The winners were led by forward Pozdnyakova Anna (181-0) who scored that evening 24 points and 7 rebounds and Anastasia Borovykh (176-96) supported her with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds by Kseniya Kornienko did not help to save the game for Neftyanik. Ksenia Fedotova added 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Neftyanik players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. MBA-2 (3-7) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Stavropol and Sparta&K-2 V. Loser Neftyanik keeps the fourth position with five games lost. MBA-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Neftyanik will play against the league's second-placed Samara (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
