Slovenian Helios can celebrate their first win this season after one consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Graz, where they outplayed Austrian UBSC Graz (1-4) 101-59. Helios shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Guard Jure Pelko (190-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Jure Besedic (205-92) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Helios players scored in double figures. American center Darien Nelson-Henry (211-94, college: Pennsylvania) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard Nicklaus Turner (190-92, college: Columbus St.) added 13 points and 5 assists in the effort for UBSC Graz. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Helios (1-1) left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place in Group D. UBSC Graz at the other side dropped to the sixteenth position with four games lost. Helios will play against BK Usti nad Labem (#15) at home in the next round. UBSC Graz will have a break next round.
