Regular Season Round 8: Cegledi EKK - PINKK-Pecsi 57-60

The most exciting game of round 8 in the A Division took place in Cegled. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked Cegledi EKK (3-4) to seventh ranked PINKK-Pecsi (4-4) 60-57 in the game for the sixth place. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 19-9 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Ivey Slaughter (186-94, college: Florida St.) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds. The other American import center Shelby Cheslek (196-92, college: Gonzaga) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. DR Congolese forward Chanel Mokango (196-88, college: Mississippi St., agency: ProDep Management) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian center Jelena Maksimovic (191-82) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Cegledi EKK's coach Laszlo Cziczas tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. PINKK-Pecsi have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Cegledi EKK at the other side dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. PINKK-Pecsi are looking forward to face higher ranked Sopron Basket (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cegledi EKK will have a break next round.
