Regular Season Round 8: Parma-2 - Lokomotiv-2 67-103

Very predictable result when first ranked Lokomotiv-2 (11-2) rolled over 7th ranked Parma-2 (4-8) in Perm 103-67 on Sunday. Lokomotiv-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to Parma-2's 32. They outrebounded Parma-2 41-25 including 17 on the offensive glass. Lokomotiv-2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Center Kirill Popov (202-98) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds (on 16-of-21 shooting from the field). Forward Pavel Kryacshenko (199-98) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Lokomotiv-2 players scored in double figures. Guard Aleksandr Platunov (192-97) replied with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Sergey Shirokov (202-97) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Parma-2. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lokomotiv-2 have a solid four-game winning streak. Despite that victory Lokomotiv-2 went down to second position due to points difference. Loser Parma-2 keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
