Regular Season Round 8: BEAC Ujbuda - ZTE NKK 69-74

Bottom-ranked BEAC-Ujbuda (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 74-69 loss to fourth ranked ZTE NKK (5-2) in Budapest. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by Romanian power forward Elisabeth Pavel (191-90) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks and Austrian guard Sigi Koizar (173-95, college: Maine) supported her with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Even 19 points by swingman Petra Pusztai (177-99) did not help to save the game for BEAC-Ujbuda. Forward Krisztina Sule (178-87) added 16 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. ZTE NKK maintains fourth position with 5-2 record. BEAC-Ujbuda at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. ZTE NKK will have a break next round. BEAC-Ujbuda will play on the road against PEAC-Pecs (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
