Regular Season Round 8: Atomeromu - Sopron Basket 66-53

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Szekszard. Top-ranked Atomeromu faced second-ranked Sopron Basket. Host Atomeromu (7-0) defeated guests from Sopron (6-2) 66-53. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sopron Basket. The game was mostly controlled by Atomeromu. Sopron Basket was better in second period 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. International point guard Agnes Studer (168-98, agency: Interperformances) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 4 assists. American forward Erica McCall (190-95, college: Stanford, agency: ProDep Management) contributed with 7 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Crystal Langhorne (188-86, college: Maryland) replied with 8 points and 11 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Yvonne Turner (176-87, college: Nebraska, agency: ProDep Management) added 11 points in the effort for Sopron Basket. Sopron Basket's coach Roberto Iniguez let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Atomeromu have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-0 record. Defending champion Sopron Basket dropped to the third place with two games lost. Atomeromu will play against Miskolc (#5) at home in the next round. Sopron Basket will play against PINKK-Pecsi and hopes to get back on the winning track.
