Eighth-ranked Sparta&K-2 V (3-9) made lots of trouble for second ranked UMMC Junior (9-3) in Vidnoye on Tuesday. The visitors from Ekaterinburg managed to secure only three-point victory 69-66. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was international point guard Viktoriia Zavialova (166-98) who scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Elizaveta Krymova (180-96) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Anastasia Zotkin (188-99) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Daria Ignatova (180-0) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. UMMC Junior maintains second position with 9-3 record behind leader Rostov. Sparta&K-2 V lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Stavropol. UMMC Junior are looking forward to face Samara (#4) on the road in the next round. Sparta&K-2 V will play against Neftyanik (#3) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
