Regular Season Round 9: PEAC-Pecs - BEAC Ujbuda 81-79

Date: December 2, 2017
Bottom-ranked BEAC-Ujbuda (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 81-79 loss to eighth ranked PEAC-Pecs (3-5) in Pecs. The hosts were already 14 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 25-13 BEAC-Ujbuda's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 81-79 at the end of the game. They outrebounded BEAC-Ujbuda 44-32 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Nigerian forward Sarah Imovbioh (188-92, college: S.Carolina) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 19 rebounds. Serbian point guard Sanja Mandic (178-95, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Four PEAC-Pecs players scored in double figures. PEAC-Pecs' coach Gabriel Carrasco allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Swingman Anna Suppan (177-94) answered with 27 points and 6 rebounds and forward Krisztina Sule (178-87) added 19 points in the effort for BEAC-Ujbuda. PEAC-Pecs maintains eighth place with 3-5 record. BEAC-Ujbuda lost their eighth game in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost. PEAC-Pecs will play against higher ranked Miskolc (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BEAC-Ujbuda will play against the league's leader Atomeromu (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
