The game in Nizhny Novgorod was quite interesting. Third ranked Unics-2 (11-2) played at the court of 8th ranked N.Novgorod-2 (3-10). Unics-2 defeated N.Novgorod-2 85-70 on Wednesday. Unics-2 forced 23 N.Novgorod-2 turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Unics-2 especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by N.Novgorod-2 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Point guard Sergey Krivykh (182-98) stepped up and scored 22 points and 6 assists for the winners and forward Vladislav Karpov (195-97) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Nadir Eksanov (190-98) with 18 points and forward Vladimir Karpenko scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Unics-2 moved-up to second place, which they share with Lokomotiv-2. N.Novgorod-2 lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Unics-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. N.Novgorod-2 will play at home against the league's leader Khimki-2 (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
