Regular Season Round 10: ZTE NKK - Cegledi EKK 52-80

Date: December 6, 2017
The game between 4th ranked ZTE NKK (6-3) and sixth ranked Cegledi EKK (5-4) in Zalaegerszeg on Wednesday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Cegled outscored ZTE NKK 80-52. The game without a history. Cegledi EKK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 21-of-22 free shots (95.5 percent) during the game. Serbian point guard Jovana Popovic (173-90) notched 19 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and Serbian center Jelena Maksimovic (191-82) supported her with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five Cegledi EKK players scored in double figures. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds by the former international Gyorgyi Ori (184-90) did not help to save the game for ZTE NKK. Austrian guard Sigi Koizar (173-95, college: Maine) added 10 points for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cegledi EKK maintains sixth position with 5-4 record. Loser ZTE NKK dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Sopron Basket. Cegledi EKK will meet MTK (#10) in the next round. ZTE NKK will play against the league's second-placed UNI Gyor (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
