Round 17 in Superleague 1 means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Vladivostok where host Spartak-Prim. (13-4) beat league's leader TEMP-SUMZ Revda (12-5) 102-92 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of TEMP-SUMZ Revda. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Spartak-Prim. shot 32 for 50 from the free-throw line, while TEMP-SUMZ Revda only scored fifteen points from the stripe. 37 personal fouls committed by TEMP-SUMZ Revda helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Aubrey Coleman (193-87, college: Houston, agency: HMS) who scored 28 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Guard Viktor Zaryazhko (195-92) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Aleksandr Lavnikov (205-91, agency: Alti Sport) produced 24 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Alexandr Varnakov (185-92) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Five Spartak-Prim. and four TEMP-SUMZ Revda players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Spartak-Prim. keeps a position of league leader. TEMP-SUMZ Revda at the other side dropped to the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Samara-SGEU. They were replaced at the leadership position by Spartak-Prim.. TEMP-SUMZ Revda will play next round against Spartak St.Petersburg trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Spartak-Prim. will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked MBA Moscow at home.
